In my emails, I usually talk about what is happening in the macroeconomic landscape, often giving my opinion, other times about simple investment strategies (Covered Call, Asymmetric Portfolio, etc.), and others about profitable strategies presented in the crypto world, usually with stablecoins.

This week I could talk about how the ECB will not raise rates and hope to get inflation back to 2% magically, or I could talk about how Elon Musk's bid for Twitter would only net him 17% of his equity but no.

Today is going to be a little different. I'm going to talk about personal finance and specifically the savings rate.

What is the savings rate?

The savings rate is, in economics, an indicator that expresses the percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) that is allocated to savings.

If we look at the main countries or regions worldwide (reference below), we see that the average savings rate in the EU is around 5%, while in the US, it is about 2-3%.
