Today is one of those days when I'm going to open up completely to you, my private and paid subscribers. This newsletter is just for you.
Call it principles (Ray Dalio), habits, or whatever you like, but everyone's life needs to be guided by a set of formulas that direct them towards where they want to go.
This last point, even though it's not in bold, is very important: DIRECTIONALLY. You might have a habit of eating a donut every day, but is that going to directionally lead you to being healthy?
You might trade stocks, but is that going to directionally lead you to being financially free?
You might stay home on a Saturday playing video games, but is that going to lead you to having good relationships?
I believe life is full of those small things we do consistently that position us in one direction or another.
In this newsletter, we often talk about personal finance. Today I want to take it a step further. Personal finance is very important, but when you accumulate a lot of money, you realize it doesn't make you as happy as you initially thought.
In fact, I believe personal finance isn't the most important thing; I think health is, and many times we take actions that are directionally opposed to that.
Many executives, when they reach an advanced age, can barely move.
That's why today I wanted to share with you the small equation of what success means to me. My obsession for a long time has been for it to work automatically, meaning that with just a few habits, I can achieve it.
