The Unseen Crisis: US Unemployment Spells Looming Recession
There's one of the main factors that mark recessions which isn't being talked about enough. Although we have discussed this factor, very few have done so and are ignoring what is happening in the markets.
I'm talking about the US unemployment rate. To give you some context, what has happened in the United States over the last 5 years is unprecedented. We have lived in a situation where unemployment did not exist; you simply wanted to earn a bit more and you would move from the factory you worked at to the one next door in a matter of minutes.
Not to mention the huge salaries we were seeing. Software programmers earning $400k or, as I have seen in multiple cases, senior programmers taking on 2-3 junior developer jobs to earn more in exchange for lower performance.
These are real absurdities that affect major companies, which are unable to find qualified workers, leading to decreased productivity.
